Can you believe there is only one month of Summer left before the kids go back to school?
If you are looking for a Midwest road trip idea before Summer wraps up, check out these locations we've visited in the past for some awesome attraction, ideas, and money saving tips. I have these in order from closest to furthest from the Cedar Valley as best as I could guess, obviously depending on your starting location:
- Dubuque, IA (about 90 mins)
- Okoboji, IA (about 3 hours)
- Des Moines, IA and Kansas City, MO (about 2 hours and 5 hours, respectively)
- Minneapolis, MN (about 3 hours)
- Wisconsin Dells, WI (about 4 hours)
- Branson, MO (about 8 hours)
- South Dakota (about 10-12 hours, depending on your route)
I was going to include Chicago (about 4-4.5 hours), but I realized I've only been there in the Winter so it wouldn't give you a good idea of all of the Summer family fun they have to offer.
