Check out these Independence Day Celebrations and Fireworks Displays!

There are quite a few fireworks displays happening here in Eastern Iowa this summer! 

Here are some of the area events where you can enjoy fireworks in 2023 (all fireworks begin around dusk):

Linn County

Cedar Boat Club 75th Anniversary Fireworks Show

  • Sunday, July 2nd beginning at 8:30 p.m.
  • The Cedar River near Ellis Harbor/Park in Cedar Rapids

Marion Fireworks & Fireflies

  • Monday, July 3rd beginning at 6 p.m.
  • Lowe Park in Marion
  • Featuring live music, food trucks, and more

Celebration of Freedom Fireworks

  • Tuesday, July 4th beginning at 5 p.m.
  • Downtown Cedar Rapids - 3rd Ave and the McGrath Amphitheater
  • "There will be music on the stage, food vendors, drinks in the venue, and a kids fun zone featuring bounce houses, games, face painting, photo booth, and caricature drawing,      PLUS the first 500 kids 12 and under will receive a grab bag with freebies!"
  • Event is free with a Freedom  Festival button ($10 per person - ages 5 and under do not require a button)

Delaware County

Colesburg Fun & Fireworks

  • June 30th & July 1st (fireworks on the 1st)
  • Colesburg, Iowa
  • Featuring a 5k, inflatables, a carnival, food, a kickball tournament, a parade, and more

Dyersville 3rd of July Celebration & Fireworks

  • Monday, July 3rd beginning at 4 p.m.
  • Commercial Club Park in Dyersville
  • Featuring kids' activities, live  music, two bars, food, raffles, a balloon artist, inflatables, a bags tournament, and more
  • Admission is $5 - ages 5 and under are free

Earlville's Annual Fourth of July Celebration

  • Tuesday, July 4th beginning at 9 a.m.
  • Earlville, Iowa - Main Street/Conrad City Park/ Earlville Fire Station/Community Center
  • Featuring a 5k, tournaments, a car show, food, drinks, inflatables, raffles, and more

Black Hawk County

Waterloo Mayor's Fireworks

  • Saturday, July 1st beginning at 6 p.m.
  • RiverLoop Amphitheatre and RiverLoop Expo Plaza in Waterloo
  • Featuring food vendors, beer tents, a family fun zone, live music, and more

Johnson County

City of Iowa City Fireworks

North Liberty Fireworks Display

  • Monday, July 3rd at 9 p.m.
  • Penn Meadows Park
  • "Viewers are welcome and encouraged to arrive to the park early to play on the play structures and enjoy a picnic, however there will not be any organized programming or on-site food sales available."

Oxford Fireworks

  • Monday, July 3rd
  • Creekside Park
  • Parade at 3 p.m. (at Clear Creek Elementary)
  • Oxford Duck Race at 7 p.m.

Coralville 4thFest

  • Tuesday, July 4th beginning at 7 a.m.
  • S.T. Morrison Park in Coralville
  • Featuring a pancake breakfast, a parade, a carnival, food vendors, games, live entertainment, and more

Butler County

Shell Rock 4th of July Celebration

  • July 1st through 4th (fireworks on the 3rd)
  • Shell Rock, Iowa
  • Featuring tournaments, a beer tent, food, a kids' zone, a parade, and more

Dubuque County

Dubuque Fireworks & Air Show

  • Monday, July 3rd beginning at 12 p.m.
  • AY McDonald Park in Dubuque
  • Air Show begins at 5:30 p.m.
  • Parking is $20 per car

July 4th in the Amanas

  • Tuesday, July 4th
  • Lily Lake in Amana
  • "We celebrate Independence Day with pick-up baseball games in the park and a huge pot luck supper."

Jones County

Anamosa July 3rd Fireworks

  • Monday, July 3rd beginning at 5:30 p.m.
  • Downing Field
  • Featuring food stands, children's activities, a flag retirement ceremony, and more

Monticello's 4th of July Celebration

  • Tuesday, July 4th
  • Jones County Fairgrounds
  • Monticello Firemen's Breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Parade from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Oxford Junction's 4th of July Celebration

  • Tuesday, July 4th beginning at 10 a.m.
  • Oxford Junction, Iowa
  • Featuring a kids' tractor pull, a parade, a chicken dinner, raffles, and more

Buchanan County

Celebrate Indee

  • Tuesday, July 4th beginning at 9 a.m.
  • Riverwalk Parks in Independence

Aurora 4th of July Celebration
