Seeking Local Sponsors and Donors for our 2023 BOO Baskets!

By Celia Even, Publisher Mom for Macaroni KID Cedar Falls-Waterloo September 8, 2023

Macaroni KID Cedar Falls-Waterloo will be delivering 100 BOO Baskets and is looking for local businesses to help!

We will be creating 100 BOO baskets to deliver around the Cedar Valley (including Cedar Falls, Waterloo, Evansdale, Jesup, Independence). This means we will shop for all of the candy, glow sticks, and trinkets to fill the baskets, then personally deliver them to families in the area. Our sponsors are promoted via email (to our 5,000 readers!), website, and social media, in addition to including your info/logo/promo items in the basket itself.

BOO Baskets provide business advertising to both the 100 recipients PLUS our 5000 readers and 5000 social media followers.

Who can sponsor?

Anyone! Any type of local business (retail, restaurant, gym, doctor's office, chiropractic clinic, etc.) OR home-based MLM business that wants to help us spread joy is more than welcome to sign up as a sponsor.

How do I sponsor this awesome fun?

All you need to do is:

1. Fill out THIS FORM or email celiae@macaronikid.com

2. Provide 100 promotional items (this can be anything from a freebie coupon, to a promo item like key chains, magnets, koozies, cups, etc). Anything you would like to share with the families.

OR

One (1) GRAND PRIZE item - worth $50 or more (larger toy, game, gift card, etc)

3. Pay the $100 fee to help cover the expenses associated with the baskets

*Please feel free to email me with any questions also*

Would you like to donate items without sponsoring?

If you are an individual or group and would like to donate to our BOO Baskets, but not as a business sponsor, we would certainly appreciate it! We love to offer a variety of goodies and welcome all types of donations (toys, candy, etc). We will also recognize you/your group on social media (if you would like). Please just shoot me an email: celiae@macaronikid.com

What is a BOO Basket, you ask, and how do you BOO someone?

1. Fill a Halloween basket or bag full of goodies (candy, glow sticks, stickers, decals, straws, toys, etc)

2. Place "I've been BOO'd" printouts inside

3. Leave the basket on a doorstep, ring doorbell, and RUN!

4. The recipient opens the door and is delighted to find a basket full of goodies for their kids and receives instructions on how to continue to BOO other families

5. They will then place the "I've been BOO'd" printout in their front window so that other families know they have already received a basket.

6. Hopefully the "BOO'ing" continues until Halloween!

Please consider starting this act of kindness in your own neighborhood!
