A Thankful Tree allows kids, and adults, to display what they are thankful for. My oldest created one in school last week and really enjoyed it. There are several ways to create a Thankful Tree. Here is one method.
Supplies:
- Construction paper - orange, yellow, brown, tan, and red
- Glue
- Cookie cutter in the shape of a leaf, pumpkin, and acorn (you can freehand or use whatever you have)
- Scissors
- Pencils
- Black marker
How to Make:
- Free hand a tree on the brown paper and cut out - it doesn't have to be perfect
- Trace the leaves onto the orange, yellow, red, and tan paper - make three leaves for each child - then cut out shapes
- Trace and cut the pumpkin and acorn on the brown and tan paper
- Using the pencils have each child write what they thankful for on their leaves (assistance may be needed for certain ages). My oldest wrote several items per leaf
- The pumpkins and acorns are for you to write what you are thankful for
- Glue the tree, leaves, pumpkins, and acorns onto a large piece of tan construction paper
- With the black marker, write your family's name and year at the top - for those of us that keep these sort of things
- Review what everyone is thankful for and place it on the refrigerator
